Microneedling Treatment for Glens Falls & Saratoga Springs

Injectable Fillers

Microneedling is an anti-aging med-aesthetic procedure of introducing a controlled micro wound into the skin triggering a release of natural growth factors, new collagen and elastin. Microneedling is often referred to as “collagen inducing therapy” or “skin needling” in media and literature. During the procedure, tiny needles are used to create thousands of micro-channels every second. These tiny micro-channels stimulate your skin’s own natural ability to heal itself, thereby creating new skin. This repair process, Collagen Induction Therapy, begins almost immediately. New collagen and elastin result in a younger, healthier and firmer looking skin, which aides in reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, revealing an overall better skin tone and texture.

Our practice uses an automated micro-needling device that has a disposable sterile needle-tip containing 16 or 36 micro-needles.

What Else Can Micro-Needling Do For You?

In addition to an anti-aging treatment for fine lines and wrinkles, microneedling can also be used to treat:

  • Mild acne and acne scars
  • Hyperpigmentation including post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation
  • Lentigines

By choosing micro-needling treatments, medical spa patients can experience:

  • Younger, brighter looking skin
  • Begin to see skin improvements in just a short time

Your Micro-Needling Treatment

Micro-needling treatments may be performed on the face, neck and hands that can benefit from improvement. Prior to your treatment, a topical numbing agent may be applied to the treatment area.  A thin layer of topical serum is then applied to your skin. Next, the microneedling device will be gently glided across the skin until the entire treatment area has been covered. Immediately after the treatment you will notice a bright redness to the skin. It is recommended that patients use only mineral base makeup for the first four days after treatment but not for the first 12 hours immediately after.  After treatment, you will be provided with detailed post-care instructions.

Depending on the treatment indication, you may require 4-6 treatments at 4-6 week intervals.
