An Overview of the Facelift (Rhytidectomy) Procedure

Dr. Garcia begins most facelift procedures by making incisions around a patient’s ears and hairline. For necklift procedures, Dr. Garcia makes a small incision under your chin. Through these incisions, he can access facial muscles, fat and connective tissue. Muscles are tightened and fat and excess skin are removed. After the procedure, patients are bandaged and monitored overnight. The day after surgery you are unbandaged and placed into a facial garment, to be worn full time. Detailed instructions for care and recovery will be discussed with you. You’ll have several follow-up visits with Dr. Garcia and you should be able to get back to your normal activities within a few weeks.
